Before my research career, I worked across the stack: full-stack web development, UI/UX and product design, and everything in between. I co-founded and ran a meeting-productivity startup for over half a decade, designed cross-platform products, shipped production IoT services at enterprise scale, and spoke at industry conferences on AI and IoT.
The throughline has always been the same: take an idea and turn it into something people can actually use, with equal care for the engineering and the design. Form and Function! Below is an overview of my experience designing, building, iterating, and delivering.
Knowtworthy · Greater Toronto Area
A meeting-communications company built to make meetings collaborative and productive — shared minutes, real-time transcription, and an ML-based sentiment engine. I ran day-to-day operations and contributed across the stack: a React and Redux frontend on a Node, Express, and MongoDB backend.
Conova · Montreal (Remote)
Defined product functionality and led UX design, working closely with the development team to ship cohesive cross-platform experiences. Worked primarily in Figma across mobile and product design in an Agile team.
Bell · Mississauga, ON
Worked with the smart-city team on production Internet-of-Things code, building backend services in JavaScript, Node, Express, and MongoDB, including work on the City of Markham pilot.

A boutique gifting service. I built the cross-platform application in Angular 4 and Ionic 3 on a SailsJS, Node, and MongoDB backend, then led development of the web application.

Pitched Knowtworthy at the Entrepreneurship Hatchery's Demo Day, taking second place among 14 finalist teams before an audience of 400+.

Won first place overall among 100+ teams for Knowtworthy Sentiment — a real-time meeting-feedback tool providing transcription, speaker identification, and sentiment analysis.

Alex is part of the elite of his still young generation. Very smart, curious, self-taught, detailed-oriented, kind and professionnal. I can say without hesitation that he is one of the best employees I had in my career. Alex was hired as a UX designer first, but we've quickly updated his role for Product Designer, as he was showing strong strategic skillset such as market benchmarking, problem solving and decision making. He's also gifted with a good sense of aesthetic and marketing, which are amazing extra skills to have in his position. I wish him the very best in any project he'll initiate or participate in. You'd be lucky to have him in your team or as a collaborator.
I had the pleasure of working with Alex during the summer of 2019 in Bell Network IoT team. Leveraging his existing knowledge of Node JS and MongoDB, he became a great contributor to our team in the delivery of the City of Markham Pilot. Also he was able to exhibit leadership by identifying areas of improvement with in the team and propose and implement then within the team to have a lasting impact. Alex’s inquisitive nature makes him an asset to any team he joins and I have no doubt he will be successful in his future career path.
Alex is an elite programmer who is unbelievably tech savvy! He always has a trick up his sleeve to overcome any difficult situation. He is a natural problem solver who always thinks outside the box. Not only do his skills as a programmer excel but he also possesses strong leadership skills. Alex is extremely committed and dedicated and I know that I can count on him to deliver great results.
Had the pleasure to work with Alex on a project to revamp the company's website, and with very little supervision and oversight, he handled himself and the task at hand very well and professionally, he worked very well with team members, and completed the project on time to a level and with quality more than what was expected. I strongly recommend Alex for any developer or software leadership position and would be happy to hire him and work with him again in the future.
